Most e-scooter damage is caused by improper daily use and careless maintenance, instead of product quality problems. For independent site customers who own personal electric scooters, daily simple maintenance can extend the scooter service life by 2-3 years, and reduce replacement cost of spare parts like tires, batteries and brakes.
We sorted out 7 beginner-friendly, zero-cost maintenance tips for all riders:
1. Avoid full-drain battery charging. Do not run out all battery power before charging. Keep battery power between 20%-80% for daily use, which greatly slows lithium battery aging.
2. Clean the scooter regularly after rainy riding. Wipe water off the circuit board, wheel bearings and mudguard gap to avoid rust and short circuit. Do not rinse the scooter directly with high-pressure water gun.
3. Check brake tightness weekly. Loose brakes will extend stopping distance; tighten brake screws slightly once you hear abnormal friction noise.
4. Inflate tires moderately. Keep standard tire air pressure to prevent tire puncture and reduce riding resistance, saving battery power effectively.
5. Store scooters in dry indoor space. Long-term outdoor exposure under sun and rain will fade frame paint and damage built-in circuit components rapidly.
6. Lubricate folding joints monthly. Add a little lubricant to folding hinges to avoid stuck folding and metal abrasion.
7. Turn off power timely after riding. Cut off power when parking for a long time to avoid standby battery consumption and circuit hidden risks.

Reasonable maintenance lowers long-term riding cost, and keeps your electric scooter stable and smooth for every daily commute trip.
