1. Introduction: Diagnose First, Buy Later – Avoid Wasting Money

When your electric scooter motor stops working, stutters, or loses power, most users directly assume the motor is broken and rush to buy a new one. However, most motor failure symptoms are caused by a faulty controller instead of a damaged motor.
The scooter controller is the core control unit that regulates power and signal transmission. Overheating, water damage, or short circuits will lead to motor failure, intermittent operation, and weak power. Blindly replacing the motor without diagnosis will only cause unnecessary waste and rework.
This guide lists all required photos, dimensions, and parameters for motor replacement and motor upgrade, ensuring a perfect fit for your electric scooter.

2. Required Photos for Motor Customization & Replacement

To ensure 100% compatible motor matching, please provide complete photos as follows:
  • Multi-angle full view photos of the old motor
  • Clear photos of motor wires and wiring position
  • Photo of brake disc installation position
  • Close-up photo of the motor label (parameters & model)
  • Close-up photo of the tire specification label
  • Clear shot of the motor connector plug

3. Critical Structure & Dimension Confirmation

3.1 Front Wheel Motor or Rear Wheel Motor

Confirm whether the faulty motor is a front or rear wheel motor. Front and rear motors have different structures and mounting holes and are not universal.

3.2 Wire & Brake Disc Side Confirmation

Check whether the motor wire side and the brake disc side are on the same side. Wrong side layout will cause wire stretching and brake disc misalignment, leading to installation failure.

3.3 Must-Measure Dimensions

  • Scooter fork open size: Determine whether the motor axle fits the scooter fork
  • Motor cover height on brake disc side: Avoid brake rubbing and installation extrusion

4. Buying Suggestion: Order Complete Motor + Tire Assembly

For non-vacuum split-type motors, we strongly recommend ordering the integrated motor and tire assembly instead of a bare motor.
Motor and tire disassembly and assembly require professional tools and technology. Without professional equipment, self-installation easily causes tire eccentricity, air leakage, unbalanced wheels and other problems. The complete assembly is plug-and-play, saving time and avoiding installation failures.

5. Required Specs for Motor Upgrade

If you need to upgrade to a higher-power motor, please provide the following parameter photos to ensure system compatibility and avoid component burnout:
  • Clear controller label photo (current limit, voltage, power parameters)
  • Battery label photo (voltage and discharge parameters)
Motor upgrade must match the battery and controller parameters. Mismatched configurations will cause insufficient power, controller burnout or battery damage.

6. Quick Buying Tips

  1. Diagnose the fault first to avoid unnecessary motor replacement
  2. Provide complete photos and accurate dimensions for perfect matching
  3. Choose integrated motor & tire assembly for non-split motors
  4. Offer controller and battery specs for all motor upgrade orders
